Knit Bit Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
Knit Bit is developed and published by Simple Machine, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how information is handled when you use Knit Bit, including its creative tools, photo conversion, saved projects, and optional services.
Your creations and photos
Knit Bit stores your tapestries, templates, project names, progress, settings, and template unlocks on your device. You do not need an account to use the app.
If you choose a photo to convert into a template, the conversion takes place on your device. We do not upload that photo or your creations to our servers or send them to advertising or analytics providers.
The app accesses the image you select through your device’s photo or file picker. It may keep a temporary copy for processing and saves the resulting template locally.
Knit Bit does not provide its own cloud backup or synchronization. Your operating system may include app data in device backups, depending on your settings.
Information stored on your device
Local information may include:
Your creations, project names, colors, and completion progress.
Templates unlocked by watching rewarded videos.
App settings and privacy choices.
An age range, if you provide one. We do not ask for your date of birth.
Counts and timestamps used to limit how often advertisements may appear.
Removing app data can remove your projects, progress, settings, and locally stored unlocks.
Optional analytics and crash diagnostics
In versions where these services are enabled, Knit Bit offers separate choices for gameplay analytics and crash diagnostics. Both are optional and off by default.
If you enable gameplay analytics, Google Analytics for Firebase may process app interactions, session information, template completion events, app and device information, and app-instance identifiers. We use this information to understand how features are used and improve the app.
If you enable crash diagnostics, Firebase Crashlytics may process crash reports, technical logs, app state, device and operating-system information, and installation identifiers. We use this information to diagnose and fix problems.
Your selected photos and tapestry images are not included in our analytics or diagnostic events.
You can change these choices through Privacy & preferences. Turning off a service stops future collection through that optional service; it does not necessarily delete information already received by a provider.

Advertising and rewarded unlocks
Ad-supported versions of Knit Bit may show occasional interstitial advertisements after you acknowledge a completed template. Some templates may also offer an optional rewarded video that unlocks the template.
Advertising uses Unity LevelPlay and the advertising partners configured for the app. Depending on your choices, device settings, and applicable requirements, these services may process:
Advertising, device, or app-instance identifiers.
IP addresses and approximate location inferred from them.
Device model, operating system, language, and app version.
Advertisement views, interactions, reward events, and technical diagnostics.
These services use information to deliver and measure advertisements, limit repetition, and detect fraud. Advertising can involve processing personal information even when advertisements are not personalized.
Where required, advertising privacy choices are presented before eligible advertising requests. On iOS, permission for tracking across other companies’ apps and websites is requested separately when applicable. Declining tracking does not prevent you from using Knit Bit’s core creative features.
Available advertising privacy controls can be accessed through Privacy & preferences. Device advertising and tracking settings provide additional controls.
See Unity’s Game Player and App User Privacy Policy and Google’s Privacy Policy.
Children and age choices
Where Knit Bit asks for an age range, that range is stored locally rather than collecting a birth date. The app’s current age controls disable optional analytics, crash diagnostics, and advertising for users who indicate they are under 18.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through our optional services. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Support communications
If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, and attachments. We use it to respond, investigate problems, and maintain appropriate support records.
Please avoid sending sensitive personal information or photos that are unnecessary for your request.
Sharing and processing information
We do not sell your photos or creations.
Information processed through enabled analytics, diagnostic, or advertising services is handled by those providers for the purposes described above. Advertising-related disclosures may qualify as a “sale” or “sharing” under some privacy laws, even where no information is exchanged directly for money. Applicable choices are available through the app’s advertising privacy controls and device settings.
We may also disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, or protect our rights.
Retention, security, and international processing
Local project information remains on your device until it is removed. Temporary image copies may remain in app caches until replaced or cleared by the app or operating system.
We retain support information only as needed to handle requests, maintain relevant records, and meet legal obligations. Provider-held information is subject to the providers’ retention practices and the settings applied to our service accounts.
Service providers may process information outside your country. Applicable legal safeguards govern those transfers.
We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, withdraw consent, or object to certain processing.
Contact us to make a request. Because Knit Bit does not require an account, we may need additional information to locate provider-held records or verify a request. We cannot remotely access or delete creations stored only on your device.
You can remove local app data using your device’s app-data controls or by deleting the app. Device backups are managed separately through your operating-system or backup-provider settings.
Where applicable, you may also lodge a complaint with your local privacy regulator.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Knit Bit changes. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice or request consent when required.
